Compton Down

We were really excited to visit Hampshire Pantry after it opened and a quick study of the map showed us that we could walk directly to the farm by starting at the superb play area at Oliver’s Battery and hiking over Compton Down with lovely views.

East Meon

With some of the most glorious views we have seen in Hampshire, this walk would be treat enough in its own right. But when you add on refreshments from the destination café and bar that is The Dell, it becomes a absolute showstopper!

The Chantries or Chantry Wood, is a well known place to enjoy bluebells in Surrey and it isn’t hard to see why. The display here is breath-taking. Added to this, the elevated position of the wood means there is an option to take in viewpoints giving vistas across the Surrey Hills.

Zig-Zag Path, Selborne

What better way to climb the hill up to Selborne Common than via the zig-zag path that naturalist Gilbert White cut into the hillside over 200 years ago? Once you have enjoyed the views from above, make your way back down the beech hanger and enjoy refreshments from the pub at the bottom.
