Chichester Harbour National Landscape

Chichester Harbour National Landscape is a natural harbour providing one of the most important habitats for wildlife in the UK. The area hosts some outstanding shoreline walks passing boatyards, beaches, attractive villages, marinas, pools, mudflats, meadows and farmland. Along the way you will spot a wealth of marine life including a vast number of seabirds and perhaps even a seal or two. Below is our current collection of family-friendly walks in the area.

One of the most picturesque villages along the southern coastline, Bosham is a perfect place for a shoreline stroll with an ice-cream in hand.

Paved through its entirety, this is a really easy pushchair walk with plenty of interest including a sea lock at the marina entrance.

A beautiful and varied coastal walk, the most memorable part of this walk will be the wooden footbridges over the seawater.

There isn’t much sand in Sussex, so these dunes near West Wittering are a real treat to walk around as well as being an important wildlife habitat.

Walking along the shoreline, as you approach Fishbourne, you will find these attractive water meadows with a perfect spot for paddling.

This is a brilliant little loop with wonderful harbour views, a pub and even an opportunity to book a boat ride.

An easy circular walk with far reaching views and a shoreline to play on.

Children will enjoy the boats coming in and out of Thornham Marina as well as the opportunity to stop in their own hut for refreshments along the way.
